Dr. Swati Rajagopal completed her primary medical training at MS Ramaiah Medical college, affiliated to Bangalore University followed by post graduate specialization in Infectious diseases at Royal Prince Alfred hospital, affiliated to the University of Sydney. Dr Rajagopal went on to pursue her specialization in tropical diseases, travel medicine and infection control at London school of hygiene and tropical medicine. 

She was awarded the Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health for her exemplary work in Public Health and Control of Communicable Diseases.

Aster CMI hospital, Bangalore July 2016-present Consultant- Infectious Disease and Travel Medicine Commenced working as Infectious disease physician and travel medicine expert at Aster CMI hospital.

Columbia Asia Hospital, Bangalore 2008-2016 Consultant- Infectious Diseases and Travel Medicine Commenced working as a consultant in infectious diseases and internal medicine in 2008 as a part of Columbia Asia group of hospitals.

This involved treatment of infections in critically ill patients in intensive care unit, outpatient care and management of patients with acute and chronic infections. This also involves treatment of post operative -wound infections and management of patients with HIV. As a part of travel medicine clinic,

prophylaxis, vaccinations and travel advice is also given. As a part of Columbia Asia infection control team, monthly audits of antibiotic use and Hospital acquired infections is conducted.

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney 2006-2008 Medical Registrar Commenced working as a basic physician trainee in 2005 as the part of RPA network. This involved extensive clinical experience in the departments of general medicine, Nephrology, Infectious diseases and respiratory medicine. Participation in seminars and journal clubs were a part of the curriculum. The training also involved teaching interns, residents and medical students.

The University of Sydney, Sydney 2005-2006 Infectious diseases and Immunology This involved extensive post graduate training in Infectious diseases and immunology. Understanding the immunological basis of infectious diseases, basic immunology, HIV medicine and sexual health, communicable disease control were core aspects of the training. Journal clubs, case presentations, field trips and seminars were vital to the understanding of the subject.

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney 2004- 2005 Senior Medical Resident officer Commenced working as a senior resident in Medicine in October 2004. As a part of my rotation, I have worked in departments of Hepatology, Geriatrics, Medical Oncology, Nephrology and Endocrinology. Internal Medicine, I was responsible for in-patient care under supervision of Dr.S.V.Chowti. This included weekly review of cases seen in the wards in addition to participation in seminars.
